The Systems Maintenance Division employees are responsible for the maintenance & repair of water & sewer mains as well as fire hydrants & main water valves. They also provide water main taps for new water services for Rantoul’s residents. Personnel provide water utility locates under the J.U.L.I.E. system and respond to customer service needs.

The Systems Maintenance Division is located on the grounds of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Smoke Testing
Smoke testing to detect leaks in the Rantoul wastewater system will begin by the middle of the month.

By introducing smoke into neighborhood sewer lines, the public works department will be able to identify where storm and other surface water may be entering the sewer collection system and identify sources of sewer odor. Testing will continue through the winter months.
