Recreation Classes

The Village of Rantoul Recreation Department is proud to offer a wide selection of classes available to adults and seniors. For more information, click on the links below:

Woodworking Shop Hours
The woodworking shop is open Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday mornings from 8 to 11 a.m.

Shop fee is $2 per hour with a maximum charge of $5 per session. Contact the Recreation Department for additional information

Woodcrafters Club
Meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month beginning at 7 p.m. at the Rantoul Recreation Department administration building.

Meetings are open to anyone ages 16 and over. Contact Bob Deiter at 893-3797 for additional information.

Youth Fitness Orientation
Youth participation allowed at Forum Fitness Center after completion of the training class which is held every 3rd Monday of each month. The class open to 14 and 15 year olds and is held at 7PM at the Forum Fitness Center. Advanced registration is required and the cost is $10 per person. For more information, call 893-5700.
CPR / AED Classes
The American Heart Association Heart Saver First Aid with CPR/AED will be given at the Rantoul Recreation Department on May 14, 2011. The cost is $40 which includes the book and course completion card. There is a minimum of 4 people per class required. Call 893-5700 to register. Registration ends May 10th.
Ballet Classes
Beginners ballet and tap will be held from 5:30 pm – 6:15 pm on Tuesday or Thursday, beginner/intermediate ballet and jazz will be held from 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm on Monday , beginner intermediate jazz and tap will be held on Tuesday from 6:15 pm – 7:15 pm, ballet, and jazz, for ages 9 and over will be on Mondays from 7:15 pm to 8:15 pm, and hip hop for those 9 and over will be held from 7:15 pm – 8:15 pm on Tuesdays.. The class runs 12 weeks. There will be a recital at the end of the 12 weeks. Cost of the 12 week class will be $60. Miranda Crawford is the instructor.
