Division Overview

The Building Inspection Division provides plan review, permit issuance, and field inspection services for all new construction and remodeling in the community.

The department adopts and enforces a series of codes, primarily those promulgated by the International Code Council, National Fire Protection Association, and State of Illinois.

Please click here to view the various building permit applications, contractor license applications and planning/zoning forms that you can download, fill out and turn in.  If you are in the process of obtaining a building permit for a food or drink establishment, please also simultaneously contact the Champaign County Public Health Department, which has its own separate review process.
