Index of CodesThe following is an index of codes used by the Village of Rantoul Inspections Department. You will need to contact the Building Inspection Department at (217) 893-1661 ext. 6826 to obtain any and all permits required as well as to schedule any and all inspections.

Building CodeICC 2006 Edition of the International Residential Code
Plan review and building permits are required and can be obtained at: Building Inspection Department, Village of Rantoul, 333 S. Tanner St., Rantoul, IL 61866.
All types of permits are required. Contractors bond is not required. Blue prints are required for commercial and residential and a licensed Architect Seal is required for commercial building.
Electrical CodeFor Commercial, use the ICC 2006 Edition of the International Electrical Code with reference to NFPA 70 (NEC 2005 Edition) with local modifications. Local license, registration fee, contractors bond, permits and fees are required. Reciprocal license from another municipality is acceptable.
Mechanical (A/C - Heating - Ventilation) Code
ICC 2006 Edition of the ICC International Mechanical Code. Contractors bond and local license are required.

ICC 2006 Edition of the International Building Code. 2 roofs allowed before tear-off. Permits and fees are required. A State of Illinois roofing license is also required.
Sprinkler Fitters Requirements
ICC 2006 Edition of the International Building Code. NFPA 13 and 13R is required. Certification for installation is required. Permits and fees are required.
