The Clerk’s office is the keeper of the records and is dedicated to assisting the citizens with request for information and prepares the
Agendas and
Board Packets for the
Board Meetings, records the
Minutes, and maintains and updates the
Village Code when
Ordinances are passed. The Clerk also serves as the
Freedom of Information Officer and works with the various departments to respond in a timely manner to all requests.
Other duties include the reviewing, issuing and renewing
licenses for Hotels and Motels, Mobile Home Parks, Raffles, Taxi and Vehicle Relocation companies. Liquor licenses are handled by the Mayor who is the Liquor Commissioner.
In election years petitions for the position of Mayor, Trustee, Clerk and Library Trustee may be picked up from the Clerk’s office. A Candidate’s Guide is prepared for potential candidates outlining the process of completing and filing for office.
The
County Clerk’s Office at the Brookens Building in Urbana maintains all Birth and Death Certificates in the county, issues Marriage Licenses and Registers voters.
Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday at the Municipal Building, 333 S. Tanner Street, Rantoul, Illinois.
