Persons arrested by the Rantoul Police Department may be brought to the Rantoul PoIice Department for processing and release, or depending on the type of charges, may be taken to the Champaign County Correctional Center. For information about persons who have been taken to the county correctional center call (217) 384-1243.

The Village of Rantoul is allowed to enact ordinances to cover traffic offenses, minor criminal offenses, liquor offenses, etc. If a person is arrested for an ordinance offense, they cannot go to jail for that offense. It is considered a “fine only” infraction, and it is not a permanent mark on their record.Police - Arrestee Information
