Are churches required to register?
If the church has a parsonage, that residence must register using the Rental Registration Application.

What does it mean to "Register" my residential property?
Registration is done by simply completing and submitting a form that describes the property type. The Owner Occupied Exemption form is for property where the owner resides as their principle residence. Rental Registration & Inspection Application applies to all residential rental property. The Vacant Residential Property Registration form applies to residential property that will be vacant for 30 days or more.

I own and live in my residence and DO NOT intend to rent it out. Do I need to register?
Yes. Complete the Owner-Occupied Exemption Form. With the constant turnover of residential housing, this process clarifies its current use.

I own vacant residential property. Does it need to be registered?
Yes, vacant for 30 days or more? Complete the Vacant Residential Property Registration form.

I own a mobile home. Does it need to be registered and inspected?
Yes. Proof of ownership required at time of registration (title, tax bills, etc) Certificate of Occupancy must be obtained and IS NOT transferable. Ordin 2238 Chap 10 Sec 10-509. An inspection is required.
5.
We registered our rental property late in the year and paid the $40.00 Registration Fee. Is this fee pro-rated?
No. Registration fees ARE NOT pro-rated. They are specific to each Registration Period (May 1 - April 30).

Are churches required to register?
If the church has a parsonage, that residence must register using the Rental Registration Application.

When can I expect my rental residence to be inspected?
Once every (3) years unless cited for other violations of the code. New landlords, your rental will be inspected shortly after being registered.

Does the Village inspect Section 8 Housing?
Yes. Section 8 Housing is included in our inspections. Section 8 also conducts an inspection of their own.
